About
As you can see from this cute photo posted here, Sinead’s love for country music began at the young age of 3 years old. Coming from a family that are steeped in generations of musicians ,it is no surprise that Sinead has followed in their footsteps.
Sinead’s father, Alex Black is a well known and talented singer-songwriter. He has written hits for Daniel O’Donnell , Mick Flavin and Johnny Loughrey to name a few. Sinead’s parents supported Sinead’s love for country music from day one. Her mother, Anne would take Sinead to her father’s local gigs and Sinead would embrace it all and even sing a song or two.
Sinead’s childhood summers were spent in places like the Allingham Arms Hotel and Westport at country music dances with her parents. “ I remember watching artists like Declan Nerney and Jimmy Buckley and thinking I wanna be on that stage when I grow up”.
Education
This Donegal lady decided to put her education first and has spent the last 5 years obtaining an Honours Degree in Business and IT. Therefore, Sinead’s love for country music had to take a back seat.
She continued to perform at local dance halls and charity events. “ Im delighted I had the opportunity to continue gigging while attending college. I’ve gained both experience and lovely friends for life”. Throughout this time she has had many highlights such as singing duets with artists such as Daniel O’Donnell and Philomena Begley. She has also shared the stage with Nathan Carter, Mike Denver and Michael English during this time.
Sinead has always been heavily involved in local charities and was awarded a volunteer recognition award for 16 years of service in 2016. Sinead was nominated for this award by Lifford Community hospital. Sinead has been entertaining the patients there every christmas morning from the young age of seven.
In 2014 Sinead embraced a new path in her music career and began singing at weddings.” I sang at my brother’s wedding and a few friends weddings for fun and now it has became a big part of my job”. Sinead absolutely loves being part of each couples special day and with almost sixty weddings this year the feeling has become mutual for couples in the northwest.
